Farheen Jamal has been working with children and families for over two decades. She worked as a Child and Family Therapist at a Children's Mental Health Centre in Toronto for over a decade before starting her own private practice full time. Farheen works with children (ages 4 to young adults) and their families to help them in developing new coping skills and strategies, or strengthen and expand the ones they already have.

Farheen truly believes that a crisis is an opportunity for change. Everyone, at some point in their lives, finds themselves in a situation where their skills and abilities do not match what their environment requires of them. Farheen sees this as an opportunity for growth. The skills and strategies that we learn during these challenging times are ones that will remain with us in our personal "tool box" and that we will be able to draw on to help now and in the future.

Farheen has post-graduate training in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), narrative and solution focused therapy, attachment therapy, child play therapy and family therapy. She is a certified Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) facilitator as well as Circle of Security (attachment based parenting program) parent educator and facilitator. She is also certified in Facing Your Fears (a CBT based program for children with anxiety). Farheen has a warm and engaging style that assists children in making changes and developing new skills. She truly enjoys working with children and helping them reach their full potential.
